This year I wanted to add a little St. Patrick's Day fun to our home and what better way than to make an easy, cute, and affordable DIY craft. I love an easy craft, specially one I can get my daughter on board with. Down below I have listed everything you need to make these St. Patrick's Day Gnomes, as well as give you step by step instructions with pictures included. Happy crafting!
ST. PATRICK'S DAY GNOMES
These little guys are so fun and incredibly easy to make. To make this craft you will need:
Craft cone 3.7in x8.9 in found here
Doll Heads 1.25 in found here
Craft fur color of choice found here
Green Felt found here
Scissors
Glue gun
Print out this 4 leaf clover on card stock paper
You can find all of these items at Michaels and I have Linked them for your convenience.
Step 1: Grab your 9x12 sheet of felt which will be your Gnome hat. You will fold it into a cone shape and glue the edges making sure you keep an opening in the middle.
It will look like this!
Step 2: You will now grab your cone and wrap the craft fur around it and glue it in place. Part of the cone will be exposed in the back. You can cut an additional piece of leftover fur to cover it at the end.
Now just cut the excess fur at the bottom.
Step 3: Put your felt hat on the cone and cut it to your desired height. I liked my hat to be pretty tall.
Step 4: Glue the doll head (nose) right under the felt hat. You can even lift the felt a bit to make the felt cover the nose a bit.
Step 5: Cut out the 4 leaf clover printout I provided on the materials section and glue it on. Told you it was super easy!
Now your DIY Gnome is done and it should look something like this! We even gave it a little mustache by simply playing with the fur.
Cute right?!? Im all about an easy craft and it really doesn't get any easier than this, plus the kiddo loves seeing them on the kitchen table. There's really no limit to how creative you can get and I cant wait to see yours.
