Big Bear is the perfect destination for a getaway to the mountains with family and friends. Its not only a great destination during snow season but theres so much to see and do even in the summer time. Choosing a great cabin to stay in when visiting with a large group is never an easy task but luckily I'm going to share with you all about an amazing cabin we were invited to visit. It is beautiful, comfortable and close in proximity to restaurants/shopping centers. Plus it had everything we needed for an over the top fun long weekend. Think movie theater and game room! Yup, you read that right. The Big Foot Cabin was such a great stay. Plus I'm excited to share some of our favorite activities to help you plan the perfect Big Bear visit.
Big Bear Cabin Rental
This beautiful, large and spacious home is situated back from the road on a large lot with views of Castle Glen and the unique natural rock landscape. This 5 bedroom, reverse floor plan home has plenty of room for everyone! Plus, who whole cabin was impeccably clean and has WIFI. I'm going to start the virtual tour of the house on the entry level.
This Cabin has a beautiful entryway leading to the kitchen and living room. The living room is highlighted by large windows, wood burning fireplace and knotty pine vaulted ceilings. The large windows allow for plenty of natural light as well as beautiful views on the greenery out in the back. The dining area is connected to the family room and has a large table that shares the natural light with the living room. You can open the large door leading to the back deck for a breath of fresh mountain air or to sit and enjoy your coffee.
The kitchen is incredibly spacious with granite counters, stainless steel appliances, a professional grade gas range, microwave, dishwasher and coffee pot (guests must provide their own k-cups)
The entry level has a large master suite with back deck access, gas fireplace, king bed, TV with cable, and private bathroom with double sinks, and shower. Bedroom two has a queen bed, and bedroom three has a king bed and TV with cable. All bedrooms are spacious, with great natural light and a TV. A full bathroom is nearby in the hallway.
Downstairs is where all the fun is at and makes this home so unique. There's a large room with arcades, a pool table and even a large theater area with theater style seating. Can you say movie night!!! This was a very popular room with the kiddos and definitely a big highlight of this home that makes it stand out from the rest.
A 3/4 bathroom and washer and dryer are on the downstairs level as well and really came in handy. There are also two more private bedrooms on the downstairs level. One bedroom has two queen over queen bunks, TV with cable and a gas fireplace. The kiddos loved being able to all sleep together with tons of space. The last bedroom has a king bed and TV with cable right next to the bunk beds room.
The front deck was equally as nice. There was tons of covered seating area, a propane barbecue perfect for our late night bbq, and large hot tub where we relaxed after a day full of adventure.
There is so much room for everyone at The Bigfoot Cabin! It's the ideal cabin for anyone planning to visit with a large group.

Big Bear Ropes Course was a bucket list activity for myself. We were all a little nervous at first but boy was it a ton of fun. So much so we did it twice. Gold Rush Mining Company is such a cool and unique visit. Alexia panned for gemstones and had so much fun discovering all her treasures. There's options to pan for gold, dinosaur fossils and shark teeth. There's something for everyone! The shop itself is so fun to explore. Even the outside parking area serves as a free place to explore before or after entering the shop. Definitely a picture worthy stop. https://www.goldrushminingco.com/
The Pines Lakefront Restaurant is a great dining option if you are looking for upscale dining. They have beautiful indoor and outdoor dining. The food was delicious and the service was great. Great food options for the tiniest of guest as well.
The Village is such a fun area for dining, shopping or simply grabbing a coffee. There's something for everyone! We walked around and explored a coffee shop, candy store, & toy shop.

How We Got To Big Bear
With gas prices at an all time high, there is no reason why most of our budget should be spent on gas. The Venza Hybrid helped us get to Big Bear, explore all around town, and get back home safely, in comfort & style, with extra cash in our pockets to spend on more family fun and not gas.
Toyota electric motors offer smooth and strong acceleration and delivers power immediately. Which means no problems getting up and down the windy mountain while still burning less fuel. This means less gasoline, fewer emissions and a better option for our planet. If you have not checked out the 2022 Toyota Venza Hybrid, I highly suggest you do here . Thank you Toyota for sponsoring our Big Bear activities and lending us this fabulous car for our road trip.
Conclusion
Would we stay here again? We most certainly would. Would we visit Big Bear in the summer again? Absolutely! It was so much fun. The other 2 families we visited with also agreed. The cabin itself was perfect and it was close in proximity to everything in Big Bear and boy was there lots to see and do. Will you be planning a Big Bear visit?
