The secret is out and I'm so excited to share it with you all! Osmo's new Math Wizard Series is out and Alexia got a chance to enjoy Secrets of the Dragons game and it’s awesome! If you have been following me you know we are an Osmo loving family. We love how their games offer self-guided learning, healthy screen time, and learning through hands on play... just to name a few things. That's why I was thrilled to learn that this new game would be focusing on math skills.
This is one of the new game on Osmo’s Math Series and this time they are focusing on teaching kiddos 6-8 years of age all about everyday math measurements. Alexia felt like a true Math Wizard being able to master skills at her own pace and I’m thrilled she’s able to enjoy new games while practicing and improving her math skills. Im personally not the best at math or ever really enjoyed it, therefore I'm really focusing on making math fun for her and this new game definitely serves that exact purpose.
What exactly is the game about you ask? Alexia was able to explore different lands unlocking one at a time by finding dragons, measuring them, feeding them and even earning rewards along the way. She was even able to name her dragon and watch them grow. She had so much fun "playing" but little did she know she was learning and practicing how to:
Use non-standard units to measure by using the food tokens
How to use a ruler to measure by inches and centimeters
Estimating lenghts
Adding lenghts
Follow instructions
Enjoying games like this and improving her math skills definitely gives her the confidence she needs to continue enjoying her math journey. I'm so thankful to have found Osmo who is continually helping us achieve this goal and continues to come out with such great educational games. They are seriously thinking of it all!
This game is available now on Amazon and playosmo.com so check it out! Math Wizard and the Magical Workshop part of this Math Series also available now and more to be released soon so keep an eye out.
Important note: An Osmo base is required to play this game. Ipad or fire tablet is required as well as internet connection.
