We recently enjoyed a fantastic weekend at San Clemente Cove in Orange County, and we indulged in a seaside getaway. This resort offers the perfect blend of home-like comforts and top-notch hotel service. With its charming oceanfront condos, perfect San Clemente sunset views, a range of on-site activities, and convenient location within walking distance to various attractions, it was a truly memorable experience.
If you're searching for the ideal Spring Break or Summer escape, look no further! Below, I will elaborate on why we enjoyed our weekend getaway and outline all the activities available during a San Clemente Cove Seaside stay where beach bliss meets Orange County Charm. Lets jump right in!
San Clemente Cove Accommodations
During our weekend getaway we stayed in one of San Clemente Cove breezy and beautiful oceanfront condo's that sleeps up to 4 guest. We all had plenty of space and privacy plus having a private balcony allowed for beautiful mornings enjoying the sound and view of the ocean with a morning cup of coffee. The room included:
1 queen size bed
1 queen size sofa sleeper
Full kitchen (pots, pans, oven, dishwasher etc.)
Dining table & chairs
Private balcony
Fireplace
2 flat screen TV's
Wi-Fi internet access
When traveling with kiddos, a well-stocked kitchen is a game-changer for managing your wallet. Having the ability to store snacks in the fridge, reheating the previous nights dinner on the stovetop, and baking our own cookies made a significant difference.
And did you see the view we had? Admiring the views from our personal balcony was awesome. Although ocean view unit are not guaranteed, 18 units have partial ocean views that are equally incredible.
Parking you ask? Resort fee includes parking underneath the resort which is a very uncommon perk so close to the beach.
San Clemente Cove Activities
San Clemente Cove has a full activities calendar with more than a dozen weekly events. Yes over a dozen and all incredibly kid friendly. You will receive the calendar at arrival to start planning the activities you wish to do or attend during your stay. We roasted complimentary s'mores and my kiddo made a seashell windshime which was available for a $5 fee. Also included with our stay, plenty of board games to choose from for the perfect game night. No need to pack your own games for a fun family game night...they got us covered!
Being just a few steps from the beach we grabbed some of their complimentary beach gear like chairs, umbrellas and sand toys and enjoyed some beach time. Hurray for not having to pack the whole house with us!
Also included with our stay, complimentary coffee and hot cocoa at the owners lounge and popcorn for movie night!
List Of Exciting Activities To Conquer Just A Hop Away From San Clemente Cove Resort
The resort is walking distance to everything we did! I'm talking 1-2 minute walk. Including the 1st Trolley stop! We got to explore and not once did we have to get back in our car. Now that's what I call the perfect staycation! Listing all the activities we did down below.
Enjoy the beach
We dipped our feet in the sand, the water and enjoyed watching the surfers early in the morning. The beach also has some swings and grills right in front of the hotel open for all to use.
Walk the pier located just steps from San Clemente Cove
It was a nice walk after an early dinner or simply to sit and people watch while admiring the ocean.
Walk the San Clemente Beach trail
Easy beautiful trail right next to the ocean. As of 3/2024 part of the trail is closed due to recent landslides in early 2024 however still worth a nice leisure walk.
Visit Casa Romantica Culture Center and Gardens
It's a beautiful Spanish colonial revival registered historic landmark. The have cultural programming including music, art, dance and much more. At the time of our visit they had a beautiful art collection on display and we also had the opportunity to enjoy the garden.
3/2024: Due to recent landslides, part of Casa Romantica is closed to the public and under construction. We were told it's expected to be fully open by 6/2024. Still worth a visit as entrance is only $5 and will help this beautiful center while they rebuild and come back fully open and stronger then ever. Ride the FREE & CLEAN SC Trolley to explore the city (to see Red line stops and times head to sctrolley.com)
This method of free public transportation is incredibly convenient and a must use when visiting. On top of it being 100% free, it's clean, timely, and the stop is literally just a few steps from the resort. Plus it takes you everywhere you could possibly want to visit in the area. Theres a schedule you can check
San Clemente Farmers Market (happening on Sundays. You can take to SC Trolley to and back)
It's a cute farmers markets located right on Avenida Del Mar and opens Sundays from 9am to 1pm. Makes for a great morning and stroll.
Visit the Outlets (you can take to SC Trolley to and back)
If shopping is what you are looking for these outlets are perfect. Another great stop during the SC Trolley.
Restaurants Just A Hop Away From San Clemente Cove Resort
We came across so many wonderful restaurants just steps away from San Clemente Cove. The options were endless from seafood, to sandwiches, pizza and everything in between. Here are the ones we visited during our visit.
Great restaurant right on the pier with some incredible views at sunset. Food was delicious and a must is the clam chowder.
Equally as delicious and on the pier only with a more relaxed vibe, menu and more affordable prices. Seafood was just as fresh and unfortunately this was the only picture we got because the family started to eat before the camera even came out...rookies haha.
We were craving a burger and this place was perfect. Fun atmosphere, live music and outdoor seating available just steps from the beach with great views.
Sandwiches, gelato and panini's! Great for a quick bite or some gelato as dessert.
Serving breakfast and lunch! The Crepes were amazing and also has outfoor seating for the perfect beachside meal.
